Frequently asked questions

The questions Deborah hears most.

Straight answers below. And if your question is not here — or the answer still leaves you unsure — call and ask. That is what the phone is for.

Who qualifies for diabetic shoes?Diabetic shoes

It depends on your plan and on what your doctor puts in writing. Medicare Part B may help with therapeutic shoes and inserts for people who have diabetes-related foot problems and a prescription from their doctor. I check your situation and tell you honestly whether you look likely to qualify — what I never do is promise approval, because that decision belongs to your plan.

Does Medicare cover a glucose monitor?Glucose monitor

Monitors, test strips and lancets are often helped with when your doctor says the testing is medically necessary, and a continuous glucose monitor may be an option for some people. Whether it applies to you comes down to your plan and your doctor’s notes. Send me your details and I’ll check where you stand.

Is it really free to check?Getting started

Yes. There is no fee to ask, no consultation charge, and no obligation to do anything afterward. You are allowed to check what you qualify for and then decide it is not for you — that is a perfectly good outcome.

How fast will I hear back?Getting started

Most people hear from me the same day. If I am already on the phone with someone else, leave your number and I will call you back — usually within a few hours, and never with an automated recording.

Will you try to sell me something?Getting started

No. I am not a call center and I am not going to read you a script. If nothing is a fit for you, I will say so plainly and you will not hear from me again unless you ask.

What should I have ready before we talk?Medicare

Your red, white and blue Medicare card if you have it, the name of your doctor, a rough idea of your medicines, and a note about your feet if shoes are what you are asking about — numbness, sores, or poor circulation. If you do not have all of it, that is fine, we can start without it.

Do you help with Medicare Advantage and Original Medicare?Medicare

Both. Whether you are turning 65 and starting fresh, on a Medicare Advantage plan, or on Original Medicare with a supplement, I will go through what is available where you live and how your doctors and prescriptions fit into it.

Still not sure?
